Introduction

Resistora ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use resistora.com and our associated API and MCP server, why we collect it, and how it is handled. It applies to visitors who use the site anonymously as well as registered FREE and PRO account holders.

Information We Collect

Anonymous usage data. If you use Resistora without an account, your browser is assigned a fingerprint-derived visitor identifier (via FingerprintJS) and sent to our servers as an X-Visitor-Id header. This identifier is used solely to enforce daily usage quotas for anonymous visitors and is not linked to any name, email address, or other identity information.

Account information. If you register for an account, we store your email address and a hashed version of your password — we never store your password in plain text. When you log in, an authentication token is issued and stored in a cookie in your browser so you stay signed in between visits.

Resistor lists you save.On the FREE plan, the resistor lists you build are stored only in your browser's local storage and are never sent to our servers for persistent storage. On the PRO plan, resistor lists are stored in your account on our servers, up to a limit of 100 resistors per account.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage patterns across the site, such as which pages are viewed and which features are used. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual visitors.

API usage. When you use the API with an API token, we log request metadata for rate-limiting and abuse-prevention purposes.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to provide and improve Resistora, enforce plan quotas and API rate limits, keep accounts secure, and understand aggregate product usage so we can prioritize improvements. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Processors

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate Resistora. FingerprintJS provides the device fingerprinting technology used to generate anonymous visitor identifiers for quota enforcement. Google Analytics provides aggregate usage analytics. Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them if you have questions about how they handle data on their end.

Cookies

Resistora sets an authentication cookie after you log in so your session persists across page loads. Google Analytics may also set its own cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions for analytics purposes. If you clear your cookies, you will be signed out and will need to log in again.

Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active and is deleted upon request. Anonymous fingerprint data is retained only for as long as needed to enforce rolling daily usage limits, after which it is not kept.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below and we will respond to your request.

Children's Privacy

Resistora is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will reflect them here and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
